How It Works
Send Photos or Visit Us
Send clear photos on WhatsApp or bring your items to our Church Street shop. An appointment is not normally needed, although calling ahead can help for larger collections or high-value bullion.
Bring Your Items and Any Paperwork
Bring the items, suitable identification where required, and any boxes, certificates, receipts or existing quotations you already have.
We Check and Weigh the Items
We inspect the items, check the relevant markings or purity and weigh the gold where appropriate.
We Explain Our Offer
We explain what we have considered and how we reached the offer. You can ask questions before making any decision.
You Decide
There is no pressure to sell. You can accept the offer, decline it or take time to think.
Payment Is Arranged
If you accept, payment is arranged using the appropriate available method. Timing and payment arrangements may depend on the transaction value and circumstances.
Want to Send Photos Before Visiting?
Photos help us identify what you have and give you an initial idea of whether it’s worth arranging a visit. Where possible, please send:
- • A clear photograph of the full item.
- • Front and reverse.
- • Hallmarks or markings.
- • Stones.
- • Certificates or packaging.
- • Stated weight for bars or coins.
- • Any existing written quotation.
“Photos can help us give an initial idea, but the final offer is confirmed after seeing and checking the items in person.”
What Should I Bring?
- • The items themselves.
- • Suitable identification where required.
- • Boxes and packaging.
- • Certificates.
- • Receipts where available.
- • Previous valuations.
- • Existing written quotations.
You do not need to clean, repair, dismantle or sort the items before visiting.

Already Had a Quote?
Send us the written quote and photographs of the same items. Let us try to beat any genuine like-for-like offer before you sell.

Will I Need Identification?
We may need suitable identification before completing a purchase. Bringing photo identification (such as a passport or driving licence) can help avoid delays.
How Will I Be Paid?
- • Payment is arranged after the offer is accepted.
- • Available methods may depend on the value and circumstances.
- • Larger transactions may need to be discussed in advance.
- • Please call ahead for substantial bullion holdings or collections.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is needed for individual pieces. For larger collections or high-value bullion, calling ahead helps us have the right team available.
Can I send photographs first?
Yes. Send clear photos on WhatsApp for an initial idea. A final offer is confirmed after we've seen the items in person.
Is the valuation free?
Yes. Valuations at our Church Street counter are free with no obligation to sell.
Do I have to sell after receiving an offer?
No. There's no pressure and no charge for deciding not to accept. Take your items home if the offer isn't right for you.
What identification should I bring?
We may need suitable photo identification (such as a passport or driving licence) before completing a purchase. Bringing ID with you helps avoid delays.
Should I clean or repair the items first?
No. Don't clean, polish, repair or dismantle anything beforehand — bring it as it is.
Can I bring several items together?
Yes. Mixed collections are welcome and different carats can be separated at the counter.
Do you buy broken gold?
Yes. Broken chains, damaged rings, single earrings and mismatched pieces can still be valued for their gold content.
Do you buy gold bars and coins?
Yes. Bars, sovereigns, Britannias, Krugerrands and other investment coins are all welcome. For larger holdings please call ahead.
Can you try to beat an existing quote?
Send us the written quote and photos of the same items and we'll try to beat any genuine like-for-like offer. We can't guarantee to beat every quote.
How long does the process take?
A handful of pieces typically takes ten to fifteen minutes at the counter. Larger collections take longer because each item is assessed individually.
How will I be paid?
Payment is arranged after the offer is accepted, using an appropriate available method. Timing and method may depend on the transaction value and circumstances.
Can I call ahead for a larger collection?
Yes — please do. Calling ahead helps us set aside time and make sure the right team is available for substantial collections or bullion.
