Not Sure What Carat Your Jewellery Is?
UK gold jewellery is usually 9ct, 14ct, 18ct or 22ct, with 24ct occasionally seen on modern pieces. The hallmark should show a fineness number (375, 585, 750 or 916), but marks can be small, worn or missing altogether — particularly on older or well-loved pieces.
You don’t need to identify the carat yourself. We check each piece at the counter so you know exactly what you have.

How do you calculate stone weight?
Stones and other non-gold parts are noted separately and an allowance is applied so you're not paid gold rates for non-gold material. We explain the allowance before you decide.
