Not sure? Bring it anyway. We test in front of you and split anything that isn't gold straight back into the bag — no pressure.
How we work out the figure (in plain English)
All 9ct gold is 375 parts per thousand pure gold. We weigh your items, multiply the weight by the purity to get the pure-gold content, then apply today's live per-gram rate. Stones, clasps and any non-gold bits get deducted properly so you only pay tax on what's actually gold.
You see the scales, you see the rate we're working from, and you get a single number. If a quote from another local buyer is sitting in your pocket, show it to us — we'll review it openly and aim to beat genuine local offers.

Quick answers
Is 9ct gold actually worth selling?
Yes. 9ct is 37.5% pure gold (the rest is alloy metals like copper and silver), and at today's market rates even modest amounts add up. The most common surprise on a 9ct valuation is how much weight a tangle of old chains adds up to.
How do I know it's 9ct?
Look inside the band of a ring or near the clasp of a chain for a hallmark — '375' is the international stamp for 9ct gold. We always test in front of you regardless of stamp, because hallmarks can be wrong, faked or worn off.
Can I sell broken or tangled chains?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Tangle and damage make no difference to the gold weight or the price. We melt-rate them; nothing needs to be wearable to be worth selling.
What's the smallest amount you'll buy?
There's no minimum. A single broken earring is fine. If it's gold, it's worth weighing.
