Sell a gold watch — discreetly, accurately, fairly.

We buy solid gold cases, gold bracelets and mixed-metal sport models from the recognised luxury houses. Working or not. Inherited, upgraded, or simply unworn.

If your brand isn't listed, bring it anyway. Genuine luxury watches outside this list often still have meaningful value.

Working pieces

Running, serviced, in good order

Working luxury watches are valued on the secondary resale market — model, reference, year, condition, originality of dial and hands, and the presence of original box and papers. A clean, running Rolex Datejust or Omega Constellation in solid gold can realise substantially more than its scrap weight.

Damaged or non-running

Stopped, scratched, or missing parts

A non-running luxury watch is rarely worthless. Solid gold cases and bracelets carry intrinsic gold value, and movements from the major houses have an active parts market. We assess each component and quote a single, honest figure.

Solid gold, gold-capped, gold-plated — they're not the same

Solid gold

Hallmarked 9ct, 14ct or 18ct throughout the case (and often the bracelet). Substantial intrinsic value.

Gold-capped

A thick gold shell over a base metal core. Common on mid-century Omega and Longines. Some intrinsic gold value, less than solid.

Gold-plated

A microns-thin layer. Negligible scrap value — only worth pursuing if the brand carries resale weight on its own.

Valued in private, paid the same day

Luxury watch transactions happen in our private valuation booth inside Cash Generator on Church Street, away from the main shop floor. You stay with your watch throughout. For higher-value pieces — anything over a few thousand pounds — please call 01744 775978 in advance so we can prepare funds and a private slot.

Watch-seller questions

Do you buy non-working luxury watches?
Yes. A non-running Rolex, Omega or Cartier still has substantial value — case, movement, dial and bracelet all carry worth independently. We'll quote on the watch as-is rather than asking you to service it first.
What about a solid gold case but a quartz movement?
The case alloy and weight are doing most of the work in a quartz gold-cased watch. We'll weigh the gold elements and price accordingly, with anything above scrap value reflected in the offer where the brand or design supports it.
Is gold-plated worth bringing in?
Honestly — usually not, unless it's a recognised luxury name. A gold-plated unbranded watch tends to have minimal resale. We'll always tell you up front rather than waste your trip.
Do I need the box and papers?
Box and papers add value, particularly on Rolex, Omega and Patek. They're not required — we buy plenty of watches without them — but bring them if you have them.
